Painter’s Lodge in Campbell River, British Columbia is a west coast adventure resort set amidst majestic mountains and the picturesque Discovery Passage. Located in the “Salmon Capital of the World”, the resort has a rich tradition of exciting sportfishing spanning nearly a century. But Painter’s Lodge is about so much more than salmon fishing – it’s about the exhilarating outdoor adventures, sumptuous meals, great service and breathtaking scenery.
Accommodation
Painter’s Lodge offers a wide variety of ocean and garden view rooms to suit your clients. Each room is warm and inviting, decorated comfortably in a relaxed, west coast style. The resort features 90 rooms and 4 private cabins.
Rooms come standard with one or two double or queen-sized beds, colour television, telephone, balcony or terrace and en-suite washrooms. Split-level lofts with four queens are great for families and buddies, while ocean view suites are perfect for a romantic getaway overlooking the vibrant Discovery Passage waterway. An assortment of specialty rooms are also available, including the VIP and Presidential Suites.
Activities
Painter’s Lodge is famous for its four hour guided fishing trips, targetting all varieties of salmon in the rich waters of Discovery Passage. Our guides have been fishing the Passage for years, and take your clients to the hottest fishing grounds while sharing their love and knowledge of this fishery.
Three hour Wildlife Adventure Tours and 5 ½ hour whale watching excursions led by local guides and naturalists bring your clients face to face with the diverse “local” population, including eagles, sea lions, harbour seals, bears, Killer Whales and more. Rapids tours are an adrenaline-pumping three hour adventure over tumultuous ocean rapids from the safety and comfort of a Hurricane Zodiac.
Just ten minutes away by water taxi, April Point Resort rents kayaks, motor scooters and bicycles and offers helicopter, float plane and guided kayak tours. With golf courses within 20 minutes of the resort, tennis, swimming pool, horseback riding, snorkeling with salmon, and nearby museums and hiking trails, Painter’s Lodge is truly the “Heart of the Pacific Playground”.
Food & Beverage
Guests at Painter’s Lodge have their choice of dining options in the resort’s restaurants and pubs. Delicious West Coast cuisine is served in Legend’s Dining Room while more relaxed, pub-style meals are available in the Tyee Pub. Just across the water, April Point Resort’s deck, dining room and sushi bar offer stunning ocean views with delicious local delicacies.
