Ucluelet Salmon Ladder Derby – Thousands of dollars in cash and prizes

Huge prizes and huge thrills are coming to the Canadian Princess Resort this summer, one of the hosts of the Ucluelet Salmon Ladder Derby.

Whether you fish for guts or glory, this year you can fish for incredible cash prizes during the Ucluelet Salmon Ladder Derby.

Throughout the derby, the 50 largest salmon (all five species of Pacific salmon are eligible) caught will be continuously ranked on the derby’s web site in a ladder format. Tickets are only $10/day and available at the resort.

Fish will be weighed-in and photographed at the Canadian Princess dock. Thousands of dollars in cash and prizes will be handed out in June, July and August.

In September, the top 50 fishers will compete in a “fish-off” over three days, September 7, 8 and 9, for HUGE cash and prizes including a chance at $250,000.

Proceeds from the derby will go toward the Thornton Creek Hatchery.
