The halibut program got underway today as predicted, aided by the best weather we have enjoyed so far this season. 26 nice flat ones were landed with the largest being a 270 lb. halibut caught by Kyle Simpkins.

So, this group has the season’s largest halibut and the season’s largest salmon (yesterday’s 48 pounder). They went to great lengths though to point out that they still have half a day to go!
