Here’s a letter we got from Doug Lemieux, a regular at the Canadian Princess Resort. This year, he took on the mighty Queen Charlotte Islands at the MV Salmon Seeker.
We arrived back yesterday from our trip to the MV Salmon Seeker and had an excellent trip.
The service – from when we landed in the inlet to when we jumped back on the float plane – was outstanding. All my guests said this was a trip to remember. The food was similar to what you would expect on a five-star cruise ship.
I want to make a special note regarding our guide. From his professionalism to his knowledge of the area, he really made our trip a success. We released at least a dozen 20-plus-pound salmon everyday! He let us know that this was our boat and did what ever he could do to accommodate us and make our trip a success.
We met a group of eight killer whales that were chasing a fish that we had on the line. Unfortunately they won that battle and we had to snap the line once the whale swallowed the fish and started to take a bunch of line. What an experience!!! The only problem I have know is that everyone wants to know when we’re going fishing again.
I have attached a couple pictures: I won the “top catch” clock for my 41 pound salmon and was able to freestyle catch a 37 lb halibut.
