The weather and the fishing for our trip 9 group was great with sunny skies and temperatures 20+ °c. One meter or less seas made for perfect conditions and it showed on the fish tally board.
We added nice new members to our Captain’s Club with a couple of repeaters, plus a Masterfisherman award to Vern Lumbert with a 183 lb. halibut.
Captain’s Club pins and plaques for Tyee salmon went to Vern Lumbert (30 lbs.), Hugh Loney (32 lbs.) and Gordon Hoag (34 lbs.). 15-year Seeker veteran Marc Zagar doubled up with a 38 lb. and a 37 lb. Chinook and earned the coveted award for the largest salmon of the trip.
The other Captain’s Club pin winners for halibut over 50 lbs. went to David Mathison (52 lbs.), Blair McDaniel (53 lbs.), Ann Lind (57 lbs.), repeat winners Vern Lumbert (63 lbs.), Hugh Loney (77 lbs.) and Scott Prince (80 lbs.).
High pressure system scheduled to hang around for another week.
