Today saw south west winds of seven knots and five feet of waves, overcast with some drizzle—perfect fishing weather. The sea went down to three feet in the afternoon and the precipitation stopped.
One of the (many) advantages of fishing on the Salmon Seeker is our boats. We are exposed to the elements here on the west coast and the idea of having a guide in each Boston Whaler is reassuring for our guests. Kano Inlet is about seventy miles south of Langara Island on the west coast of the Queen Charlotte Islands and this area is, in my own opinion, to be one of the best fishing grounds on the west coast.
One can tell that this was a good fishing day when our guests are back with a big smile on their faces and are taking all kinds of pictures of their catch.
Three of our guests joint the Captain’s Club including Roger Army with 41 lb. Chinook, Sofio Urata with a 30 lb. Chinook and Jim Eby with his own 30 pounder. It was also a big day for halibut fishermen, including 85, 80, 65 and 55 pounders.
