Rivers Inlet - Great Fall Fishing!

King Salmon Resort - September 4, 2001

The Coho fishing at King Salmon Resort continues to be excellent. They are so thick in the area, that guests are reporting that Coho are even jumping in their boats! Rutherford Point has been a hot spot for Coho lately averaging in the 10-15 lb range. These aggressive fish are putting up quite a fight, testing anglers' skill and stamina. Marker 16 is the number one choice for anglers wanting to hook into a trophy salmon. With several springs in the 50's and one in the 60's caught within the last few weeks, they're still out there, tempting those who are willing. With great fishing grounds just outside its front doors, King Salmon Resort is the place to be for some great September fishing.

Darrell Rawcliffe of Cache Creek, B.C. tells of his recent Masterfisherman catch at King Salmon Resort in August "My rod tip took a couple of dips, I gave three quick pulls, the rod tip went down again and I gave it one hard pull to set the hook. I pumped him up to the surface the first time, I couldn't believe my eyes - he just kind of flipped his tail at me and headed back for the bottom. The second time he came up part way and went back to the bottom again, but the fight wasn't as hard. I finally got him to the top and worked toward the net until Wayne netted him. It took both of us to haul him over the side of the boat and after a couple of whoops and high fives we headed for the dock and put the fish on the scale - it weighed in at 57 pounds, by far the largest fish I've ever caught. If I never catch another fish, I will remember this one and the thrill it gave me to land it." Congratulations Darrell!
