Queen Charlottes Fishing Update

MV Salmon Seeker - August 7, 2007

Good day anglers! Our guests joined us yesterday and were on the water in mid-afternoon. Fortunately the weather cooperated and the conditions were good. It wasn’t long before the first results were in and it was an excellent start with two of the Chinook coming in at 34 lbs. each. There was also a good mix of smaller Chinook, Ling cod and bottom fish.

Today, with a little wind blowing, those determined to fish were well rewarded. Over thirty Chinook were weighed in with two again in the mid thirties. Also, today was chicken day (halibut, that is) with the exception of one coming in at 85 lbs. We had a mix of Coho, Lings and some rockfish to round out the catch and there were a lot of happy faces after a full day on the water.

Our leader so far with the largest salmon is Robin Lau from WA with a 34 pounder. Close behind with a 33 lb. Chinook is John Wilkins from North Carolina. Everyone is anxious to be first on the water tomorrow in anticipation of an even better day. So long for now.
