More Anglers Join the Club

MV Salmon Seeker - August 20, 2010

Our guests from the latest had to endure some high winds for their first couple of days but the sun shone bright and steady for the most part and the fishing improved steadily.

Masterfisherman honors complete with hat, pin, plaque and bottle of champagne went to Kit Sutherland and William Motyer for both hauling in a 111 lb. halibut.

Captains’ Club awards for catching coho 15 lbs. or over went to Patrick Flaherty, Donald and Dean Colpitts all with 15lb. coho, Kjeld Petersen 16 lb., Gloria Burke 15 lb. & 17 lb.coho and 10 year old Anya Vickers with her 17 lb. coho.

Captains’ Club for Landing halibut 50 lbs. or over went to George McAuley 55 lb., Kit Sutherland 65 lb., Gene Poticnik 68 lb. and Patrick Flaherty with his 81 lb. halibut.

Captains’ Club for catching salmon 30 lbs. or over went to Gene Potocnik, Matt Landry, Dale Johnson, Kjeld Petersen and Dave Campos all with 30 lb. Chinook, Gord Stewart and Pat Flaherty with 31 lb., Michael Spencer 32 lb., Donald Colpitts 33 lb., Pat Flaherty 34 lb. and the winner of the Oak Bay Clock award for the largest salmon of the trip was Gloria Burke with her 38 lb. Tyee. This group was the next to last for the Salmon Seeker fishing season which as always has proven to be successful. Congratulations to everyone.
