Just Like the Good Old Days!

MV Charlotte Princess - June 8, 2011

"It's just like the good old days!" is the quote I've been hearing over and over here at Langara Island. Although the wind has been fresh, tucking into the leeward side of both Cohoe and Andrews Points has paid off handsomely. This morning's annual crew derby has led to congestion at the cutting table as EVERY BOAT returned with their LIMITS OF CHINOOK! "WHAT!" you might say, you have read correctly. The fish are here in abundance and sizes have been typical of early season fishing with the average  in the high teens and 20's. OBMG navigational consultant, Mike Sokolski, leads the way with a handsome 28 pounder. The forecast calls for calming winds so we will soon be on the hunt for monster halibut. Stay tuned...

Over on our sister ship, the MV Salmon Seeker, Tony Hodgson brought a spectacular 55 pounder  to the dock yesterday afternoon proving that the big ones are around and waiting!

Tight lines and good fishing,
