Great Weather for Halibut Fishing

MV Salmon Seeker - July 6, 2011

The changeover day had some challenging weather however, it blew over in the night and today saw lighter winds and rapidly decreasing seas. As a result, lots of fishing took place with excellent results. Fish could be found in many places and were spread out nicely so everyone stood equal an chance of getting big ones on the hook.

By the end of the day we had two new Masterfisherman, Bill Campbell with a 105lb. hali and Leigh Campbell, not to be outdone, with a 168lber! We also had three new Captain's Club members, Zdenko Petrovic who landed a 78lb hali, Frederick Taylor with a 93lber and John Henriksen with a nice 31lb Chinook.

Conditions are forecasted to continue like this with winds staying below 20 knots and moving gradually into the northwest.
