Foggy in Kano Inlet

MV Salmon Seeker - July 10, 2009

The day started with fog engulfing the whole area, creating a magical effect. The trees with their various shades of green rising out of the fog, combined with the calm wind and smooth sea, gave the whole area a sense of serenity.

Even in fog our guests could still enjoy the wildlife; two humpback whales showed near our boats this morning.

Our guests landed a respectable 25 Chinook and 21 Coho, along with the usual assortmen of bottomfish.

Top catches were by Neal McLennan, Douglas Avis, John Rissling, Bill Preto and Vic Preto.

Your daily trivia: did you know…

  • That the eastern coast of Canada is closer to London, England than it is to the country’s own west coast.
  • That in England the farthest one get from the sea is 65 miles.
  • That at sixty-four million miles the Pacific Ocean is twice as large as the Atlantic Ocean and covers a greater area than all the land on Earth combined.
