Reel Reports

Double MF, a new MF and 17 lb. Coho

MV Salmon Seeker - July 26, 2007

bc fishing lodgeWe always start with the weather in our Reel Reports. Then we report on the fishing conditions. The pictures that are on the web and attached to these reports are the work of Alex. I just write the basic report and send it to him in the office and he makes the report looks perfect. It's quite a system that includes satellite hook-ups, special courier barges and lots of little Tupperware containers…

Back to the weather, a gale warning that never materialised in the Kano Inlet was cancelled and we are back to smooth seas and calm winds. All our guests took this chance and the majority took the opportunity to fish some of more remote areas.

For the second time this season one guest was awarded Master Fisherman status twice in the same trip.

Paul Campbell received his first award on July 24 for 105 lb. halibut and today got his second award for a 179 lb. halibut! Chris Broader also received our top fishing award for landing a 172 lb. halibut. So, this speaks for itself when one says the fishing is hot at the MV Salmon Seeker.

On the Chinook front, the catch of the day was won by both David Kremser and Ashton Williams who both brought in beautiful 36 lb. Chinooks.

Last but not least, John Kolthoff of California brought home a spectacular 17 lb. Coho salmon.
