Day 2: 3 Master Fishermen

MV Salmon Seeker - June 2, 2008

This is our second day of the season in Kano Inlet, the most picturesque area on the West Coast of Canada. The sea was flat calm with a very light NW wind measuring just four knots. Our guests went fishing early in the morning as usual. The scenery around them was breathtaking; they saw a whale and an eagle while enjoying their sport. Some fished some for salmon while others went for halibut.

The result that we had three guests that were awarded Master Fishermen status today! Don Bonar of Alberta, who caught 157 lb. halibut, Michael Ray of Oregon caught a 137 lb. halibut and Jim Rose of BC who caught 102 lb. halibut.

As for the salmon, our guests caught some nice fish ranging from 24 lbs. to 29 lbs. plus some nice Ling Cods and Rock Fish.

Here’s a fun fact for your Monday morning: Did you know that the month of May is named after Maia, the Goddess of growth of plants?
