Captain Jeff's Report

MV Marabell - August 20, 2004

The fishing over the last couple of days has been fantastic. It would not be a stretch to say that it is some of the best all year, and there are several areas where fishing is at its finest. All are in a variety of depths, but the most consistent results throughout the day are at depths in excess of 200 feet. The ridge that runs east to west at "No Name" Point at depths of 235 feet of water has provided good fishing every time we've gone there. One memorable occasion included two 35 lbers and two 26 lbers s in less than an hour of fishing. The Lighthouse is great for bottom fishing, as always, and several uprises in the ocean floor from 180 to 120 in Parry Pass are a good spot for Yellow Eye and Ling Cod.

The "meat market" at Cohoe Pt starting at 185 and going to 210 feet in depth is great, as it is a reliable place to pick up mid-sized Chinook. Great places to fish that I call "Secret Spot #1 and #2" where many fish in the 40 to 50 lb range have been caught can be found at **************. Sorry folks, you have to find out about those personally by stopping by the Marabell.

Fish On,
The Captain
