Captain Jeff's Fish Report

MV Marabell - June 10, 2004

The weather has been uncooperative for the past few days up at Langara, with some heavy winds making fishing a bit of a challenge, even for intrepid anglers. Due to the winds, the north side of the island has been mostly inaccesible, though fishing continues on the productive east coast. Top catch on the Marabell was a 41 lb Chinook caught at McPherson Pt., with a solid showing of smaller fish (15 to 30 lbs). Enviroment Canada predicts a break in the winds later this evening.

Anglers still seem to be enjoying their time on the "rugged" west coast of British Columbia, despite the raw conditions. A pod of killer whales have been seen throughout the area on several occasions, and a pair of humpbacks are hanging out on the east side of Langara.
