It's been a fantastic Canada Day up here in Kano Inlet. The wind was a gentle 3 knots from the south and we've had flat calm seas.

Four guests were awarded Masterfisherman status (a MF hat, a pin, a certificate and a bottle of Champagne). They are:

• Dan Haldane of AB, who caught a 270 lb. halibut
• Maureen McGreight of BC, who caught a 200 lb. halibut
• Cory Duff of AB, who caught a 140 lb. halibut
• John Oh of WA, who caught a 121 lb. halibut

Two guests were awarded Captain’s Club Status and they are:

• Dan Haldane of AB, for catching a 36 lb. Chinook (he got Masterfisherman and Captain’s Club status in the same day!)
• Jerry Mus of WA, for catching 35 lb. Chinook
