Jeff – Executive Assistant to the President, Victoria
My first ever job with Oak Bay Marine Group was working onboard the MV Charlotte Princess in the Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands), a fishermen's paradise! I will never forget that summer of working hard, meeting great people and catching some really great fish. In fact, I loved it so much that I came back and worked two more seasons onboard the MV Charlotte Princess.
During my three seasons with Oak Bay Marine Group, I worked in a variety of positions which included deck hand, Stewart and Chief Stewart. Each role taught me new skills and allowed to me grow personally and develop important skills for future careers.
From the Northern waters of the Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands), I went back to school for a Diploma in Hospitality at Camosun College. When it came time for me to work the summer prior to my Commerce Degree, I was welcomed back to Oak Bay Marine Group as a Guest Service Manager for The Marina Restaurant. It was great working for a company that offers a diverse range of job opportunities.
After I finished University, I moved back to Calgary for a career in sales however, my love for the Ocean and the West Coast brought me back home to Victoria.
Once again I came back to Oak Bay Marine Group, this time as the Executive Assistant to the President. Working in the Executive Office at Oak Bay Marine Group, I've have had the great opportunity to work closely with all the divisions of the Company. Whether it's been working directly with the President or at the marinas, attractions, restaurants and resorts, I've been challenged every day. I'm very grateful Oak Bay Marine Group has always welcomed me with opportunity.
