Position: Guide
Reports to: Marine Operations Manager
Job Description: The Guide is responsible for ensuring that the guest has a productive, entertaining and safe experience on the water. The Guide must be of professional level in boat handling, fishing and fish processing skills, plus be an excellent communicator, knowledgeable naturalist, and good storyteller. The Guide has the ultimate responsibility in guest service, providing personalized, one on one service to the guest in a close environment for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
Responsibilities:
Safe operation, cleaning and maintenance of the guide boat .
Fishing with guests for a minimum of 8 hours on the water per day.
Processing, vacuum packing, and boxing all guest catches.
Maintenance and care of all equipment provided by Oak Bay Marine Group, including, but not limited to, rods, reels, downriggers and tackle.
Clean up and maintenance of fish processing area and equipment.
Skills
Canadian Coast Guard Safe Boating Operators certificate required.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: MED A3 & PCOC & SVOP & ROC-M
