Job Description:
The Chief Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all operating systems on board the ship function safely and properly at all times. Should any of the ships systems break down, it is the responsibility of the Chief Engineer to repair them as quickly and cost effectively as possible. The Chief Engineer is also ultimately responsible for the maintenance and repair of all outboard motors at the resort. During refit, the Chief Engineer, under the direction of the Superintendent of Engineering and within the parameters set out by Northern Resorts Management, will manage the refit projects undertaken aboard the vessel.
Working Conditions:
All four Northern Resorts are located in remote areas off the west coast of British Columbia. All Crew members work 7 days a week, 12 hours a day and are paid on a daily rate. Depending on the resort, our season runs approximately 70 to 100 days. During this time it is important for our Crew to eat properly and ensure they get adequate amounts of sleep. All room and board is provided at no charge. Each resort has different Crew quarters and you may be required to share a room. Timeout, if arranged at the beginning of the season is available for 4-7 days.

All licensing required for the vessel in question. The minimum requirement is a Transport Canada restricted engineering certificate specific to the vessel in question. The standard requirement is a 3rd class engineer's certificate.
