Free Flights Lure Kelowna Anglers
to the West Coast
Victoria, British Columbia — To kick-start summer travel Oak Bay Marine Group (OBMG) is offering free flights from Kelowna to Vancouver, B.C, when anglers book a trip to one of their four Northern Wilderness Resorts.
“Last year we made national headlines when we gave away free gas and flights to our three Island Resorts, this year we’re expanding our offer by creating an incentive to boost tourism in Northern British Columbia. Think of it as a ‘vacation stimulus package’ for British Columbia residents’, comments Susan Barcham, Director of Business Development at OBMG.
Besides a great deal with savings of up to $500.00 on airfare, OBMG will also offer four and five day trips starting as low as $2500.00 per person. Packages from Kelowna to the majestic Queen Charlotte Islands, Hakai Pass, or River’s Inlet, B.C., include return airfare, accommodations, all meals, wine at dinner, all fishing gear, including all-weather suits, reel coaching instruction and guaranteed fish.
But that’s not all. Mother Nature is giving the West Coast her own style of stimulus package in the form of more than one million Coho salmon destined for the Columbia River in 2009. If accurate, it would be only the third time since 1985 that this many Columbia Coho will be swimming off the coast. To add to the great forecast, 12-17 million pinks are predicted to will make their way down the coast, along with a large sockeye and Chinook return.
“When the economy is tough, the tough still go fishing,” says Ms. Barcham. When you have the passion to fish you will find a way, and this way we just made it easier for our guests from the Interior to fuel their passion.
To find out more about free flights and other great deals, you can visit OBMG at the Kelowna Boat & Leisure Show this weekend, April 18 & 19, 2009 at the Kelowna Yacht Club 1414 Water Street. Check them out online at www.obmg.com or call 1-800-663-7090.
OBMG owns and operates seven outdoor adventure resorts in British Columbia. Their four Northern Resorts include; MV Charlotte Princess and MV Salmon Seeker in the Queen Charlotte Islands, MV Marabell newly positioned at Hakai Pass, and the land-base King Salmon Resort is located at River’s Inlet, B.C.
